Talents Tokyo 2014 Call for Entries

Submissions open from May 15 to June 15

Talents Tokyo, aka TT 2014, looks for budding Filmmakers or Producers from East Asia and Southeast Asia*.

Talents Tokyo 2014 is organized by:
Tokyo Metropolitan Government; Arts Council Tokyo; Talents Tokyo Organizing Committee (TOKYO FILMeX).


The event will take place at the Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo from November 24 to 29, 2014.


During the 15th TOKYO FILMeX held in November 2014, the 4th edition of the filmmaker cultivation project "Talents Tokyo 2014" will be conducted under the supervision of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Arts Council Tokyo,and the Talents Tokyo Organizing Committee (TOKYO FILMeX), in cooperation with Berlinale Talents.


65 talented young Filmmakers and Producers from more than 10 Asian countries/region have participated in previous editions of this event.


Here you'll find some alumni's recent activity:
-Astuko HIRAYANAGI (Japan-Singapore, 2011) "OH LUCY!" was selected to 2014 CIN?FONDATION SELECTION at Cannes Film Festival;
-Kyoko MIYAKE (Japan, 2011), her 2nd documentary "Brakeless: Why Trains Crash" has been broadcasted on BBC four March 19th, 2014:
-Pornmanus RATTANAVICH (Thailand, 2011), who was the producer of "Karaoke Girl" was shown as Tiger Award Competition at the International Film festival of Rotterdam 2013 and TOKYO FILMeX 2013;
-Mouly SURYA (Indonesia, 2010) "What They Don't Talk About When They Talk About Love", premiered in World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and World Focus section at Tokyo International Film Festival;
-Anthony CHEN (Singapore, 2010), debut feature "ILO ILO" was premiered at Directors' Fortnight and won the Camera d'Or at Cannes Film Festival. Best Film at Taipei Golden Horse Award. And won the Audience Award at TOKYO FILMeX 2013.
-Hannah ESPIA (Philippines, 2012) debut feature "Transit" won numerous awards, including best film, best director in the new breed category in the 9th Cinemalaya Film Festivala and was selected in New Currents at the 18th Busan International Film Festival, and also won the Student Jury Award at TOKYO FILMeX 2013.
