Master Class with Pedro COSTA (Director)
His latest film "Sweet Exorcist" will be screened as part of omnibus "Historic Center" at this year's TOKYO FILMeX. "Historic Center" is filmed in the former capital Guimarães, considered the founding region of Portugal. In the film, Mr. Costa, together with three other preeminent contemporary European masters, capture Guimarães from different aspects. One of his masterpiece "Colossal Youth" (06) was selected for the Cannes Film Festival's competition section. Other noted works include "Casa de Lava" (95), "Ossos"(97), "Where Does Your Hidden Smile Lie?" (01), and "Change Nothing" (09). Moderated by ICHIYAMA Shozo

Case Study of 'Room 514' by Sharon BAR-ZIV
In the workshop "Small Budget, Big Screen", Sharon BAR-ZIV will talk about how, in times of budget cuts, micro budget film production may be an answer and a possible way to bring a story to the screen.. "BAR-ZIV will discuss a number of key elements that he believes enable the production of a film with a micro-budget."
The film Room 514, inspired by real events, represents a microcosm of the Israeli society and shows the duality of the core values and beliefs of an average Israeli citizen. The story revolves around a young interrogator of Russian origin, who operates in a typical masculine military environment and undergoes a complex and intriguing internal journey. New York-based Iranian filmmaker Mr. Amir NADERI's latest work "CUT", starring famed Japanese actor NISHIJIJMA Hidetoshi, screened at the last year's TOKYO FILMeX. After having actively filmed in the United States, he shot "CUT" as his first shot on location in Japan. "Marathon" (02), "Sound Barrier" (05) and "Vegas: Based on a True Story" (08) were also shown respectively at this festival. Moderated by USUI Naoyuki
