Lorna TEE

The producer Lorna Tee is a well-known personality in the Asian film scene. In 2005 she managed the marketing and distribution at Focus Films Hong Kong, where she produced the pan-Asian FOCUS: FIRST CUTS project which brought together new filmmakers from across Asia. She moved on to executive produce the first ever Asian Film Awards which saw the presentation of stars and filmmakers from all over the world. After that, she took over the Asian office for Variety as their Business Development Manager, expanding and creating sales and marketing opportunities for the renowned publication. She then ventured to set up and be the general manager of the Hong Kong based Asian investment fund Irresistible Films, working alongside top producer Bill Kong (Edko Films) and Avex Entertainment (Japan).

Currently, she is working with leading production company October Pictures (Hong Kong) and manages her own production company Paperheart (Malaysia) on producing several films across Asia. She is also the Asian representative of Back Up Media Group, a Paris-based film and television financing company involved in the financing/ investment of many high profiled international films.

Tee also sits on the board of Cinemart (International Film Festival Rotterdam), Asian Film Awards (Hong Kong International Film Festival), Shanghai International Film Market, Asian Film Market (Busan International Film Festival) and New Action Express (Short Film Fund Hong Kong) . She has been invited to be a jury member at Berlinale, Locarno, Hong Kong, Jeongju, Barcelona, Mexico, Durban, Sydney, Amsterdam and others. In addition, she has presented at workshops, panels and forums at various film and media organisations and film festival platforms.
