Introduction TCT2013 :

During the 6 days of the 14th TOKYO FILMeX held from November 25-30, 2013, the filmmaker cultivation project "Talent Campus Tokyo 2013" will be conducted through the supervision of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Arts Council Tokyo, Tokyo Culture Creation Project Office and the TOKYO FILMeX organizing committee, in cooperation with Berlinale Talents, in collaboration with GOETHE-INSTITUT Tokyo and Singapore Tourism Board.

The theme for the third edition of Talent Campus Tokyo is "CINEMA/LIFE: Find a breakthrough and create your own way ".
From the birth of cinema at the end of the 19th century to the modern era's wide variety of viewing interfaces and platforms, films have always captured "life."
Whether intentionally or not, filmmakers' own lives or way of life are reflected in their work. By making films, creators bring to light their current world and existence. Nonetheless, filmmakers have to grab the opportunity to make films and find ways to keep making them.
At the 3rd edition of Talent Campus Tokyo, up and coming Asian filmmakers will find ways to break through and forge new paths into the future of cinema through sessions with internationally active film industry figures. As filmmakers in the here and now share their voices, we aim to provide an invaluable experience leading to new creativity.

Bringing together 15 upcoming promising filmmakers and producers, film experts at the forefront of cinema Garin NUGROHO (Director), Lorna TEE (Producer), Jean-Christophe SIMON (Partner and CEO of FILMS BOUTIQUE) and Matthijs Wouter KNOL (Programme Manager of Berlinale Talents) will share their experiences through lectures.

Each participant will have the benefit of presenting his/her own project. Four experts and local industry professionals will analyze each project on its various aspects, such as directing, producing and investment viability.

Three films to be screened in the competition at TOKYO FILMeX this year are made by alumni, Anthony CHEN (Next Masters 2010), Pornmanus RATTANAVICH (Talent Campus Tokyo 2011) and Hannah ESPIA (Talent Campus Tokyo 2012).

This talent campus aims to inspire promising filmmakers to develop their voices and become the "Next Masters".
