The Talents Tokyo award goes to a filmmaker with great potential and a project with so much integrity and heart, a project that explores big issues like immigration, labor laws, economic injustice and family perception but told in a very intimate portrait of a human being searching for a home, with empty spaces that scream for real personal connections.

「Pierce」（Nelicia LOW／SINGAPORE）
The Special Mention award goes to a female filmmaker whose voice is loud and clear on what she wants to say and show- her heart of unconditional love sprinkled all over a project that needs to be made, a pitch so genuine and clear, a story so personal it echoes through all of us.
「KANAKO」(KITAGAWA Miku／JAPAN）
We honour a film project for its sense and sensitivity to explore a troubled young woman’s quest for self-confidence and acceptance. More than in the events on the surface, the true strength of this intimate portrait lies in its metaphorical undertones. Here where beauty and horror merge, the director comes very close to what growing-up can mean.

受賞理由：
スペシャル・メンションは、伝えたいことを大声で伝えることのできる女性監督へ送ります。彼女の無償の愛は、作られなければならないプロジェクト、正直ではっきりとしたプレゼンテーション、そして真摯で心に刺さる物語の全てに垣間見ることができます。
「KANAKO」（北川未来（KITAGAWA Miku）／日本）
受賞理由：
私たちは、悩み多き少女が自分を受け入れ、自信を得るまでの道のりをセンスと感受性を持って描いたこの作品を讃えます。この心のこもったプロジェクトの強みは、実際に物語の中で起こることより比喩的なテーマにあり、美しさとホラーが混ざるとき、彼女は「大人になる」ということの本質を描いているのでしょう。
