Armi Rae CACANINDIN is a producer from the Philippines specializing in international co-productions. She is an alumna of Asian Film Academy, Berlinale Talents and Talents Tokyo. Her recent projects include Alyx Ayn ARUMPAC’s “Aswang” about the state-sanctioned drug war. It won FIPRESCI award at IDFA 2019 and White Goose Award at DMZ Docs and was eligible for the Oscar’s Best Documentary Category. It also made history in the Philippines by being the first documentary to receive the Best Picture award from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) in its 68 years of existence.
Another film is “Whether the Weather is Fine”, Carlo Francisco MANATAD’s first feature about the aftermath of the typhoon Yolanda. It won Youth Jury Prize at Locarno and then went to Toronto IFF 2021. A Philippine, French, Singaporean, Indonesian co-production, it has received grants from CNC’s Aide Aux Cinema du Monde, World Cinema Fund, Vision Sud Est, Asian Cinema Fund and Talents Tokyo Next Masters Support Program for both script development and promotion.
