Born in Tokyo, she studied photography at School of Visual Arts in New York. Her short film NIAGARA was selected at the Cinéfondation in Cannes Film Festival 2014 and won awards in numerous festivals. She was awarded the Golden Camera Special Mention in Cannes Film Festival 2022 with her feature debut “PLAN 75”, an expansion of her short film, the opening segment of “Ten Years Japan” (2018) executive-produced by KORE-EDA Hirokazu.
